Ways you can provide optimal support and encourage natural detoxification:

  1. Water, Water, Water!! Drink at lease half your body weight of pure, filtered, room temperature water. Alkaline if possible. This will support the kidneys and lymphatic function to properly rid the body of the toxins out of your system. Adding lemon supports digestion, by adding the often low HCL (hydrochloric acid or alkaline acid) or try adding a capful of Raw ACV to help with digestive, cardio, and immune support.

  2. Eliminate Alcohol! Alcohol overworks the liver and can damage this critical organ. Its fun while the intoxicating effects last, but the damage lasts a lot longer. 

  3. Eliminate Wheat/Gluten, Dairy, Soy and Corn! They are all inflammatory foods and increase gut permeability and allow toxins into the bloodstream, which prevents weight loss.

  4. Eliminate Toxic Oils! Stay away from vegetable oil, seed oils, canola oil and peanut oil. Avoid trans fats or “partially hydrogenated” foods. Instead choose fractionated coconut, MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides), flaxseed, extra-virgin olive or hemp oil, which contain more beneficial omega fatty acids.

  5. Eliminate Sugar and Artificial Sweeteners! Sugar feeds inflammation, prolonged inflammation can lead to toxic build up in our organs, especially our liver. In order to feel the full benefit of detoxification eliminate sugars and artificial sweeteners and only use real sugar, honey, molasses, stevia, or monk fruit, sparingly, if needed.

  6. FEED it FIBER! Add some high quality, nutrient dense foods to your natural detox diet, including:

    1. Add plenty of alkalizing vegetables like dark leafy greens, beets, and carrots. 

    2. Add fresh, organic, non-starchy veggies like asparagus, artichoke and spinach.

    3. Add the rainbow in fresh, organic fruit (offers antioxidants, fiber and water.)

    4. Add tree seeds and nuts, like almonds, Brazil nuts, hazelnuts, pine nuts, pecans and walnuts (they support gut health and liver function)

  7. Include plenty of High Quality Protein! Detoxification starts in the liver. Liver detox pathways require protein. Choosing grass-fed or wild-caught options when possible will benefit your natural detox greatly.

  8. Alkalize through your diet! Alkalizing through your diet increases the effectiveness of any detox. Add some spinach, kale or other deep greens along with ginger, beets, carrots, turmeric and other colorful veggies and roots.

  9. Add Enzymes and Probiotics! Adding additional supportive enzymes will help you digest and absorb your foods more readily. DRY BRUSH

To dry brush, use a natural fiber brush with a long handle. The long handle will help you reach all areas of your body. Follow these steps:

1) Start with your feet and move up your body.

2) Brush your skin in a circular, clockwise motion.

3) Using light pressure in areas where your skin is thin and harder pressure on thicker skin, like the soles of your feet.

4) Brush your arms after your feet, legs, and torso, and don’t forget your back. You should brush upward towards your armpits.

5) After dry brushing, take a cold shower, as long as you can tolerate to help remove the dry skin and simulate more lymph movement.

6) When you finish your shower dry off and consider using a natural plant oil, like olive or coconut oil, for moisturizing your skin.
